Welcome to my Blog!
Hi everyone 🙂 Welcome to my Blog!Â
Thanks for checking out my website and finding out a little bit more about me, what I do, and what I stand for. To start, I am Karla Muller, previously Nauhaus, and am a born and bred Capetownian. I live in Cape Town with my husband, Ross, our 2 daughters, and our 2 cats. (desperately wanting to add a dog to the mix soon). My spare time is spent pampering my beloved house plants, devouring a good book, or cooking up a feast with a glass of wine in hand.
Here are some fun facts about me:Â
I’m Cape Town born and bred, the furthest I have moved is to Stellies where I went to University. I absolutely love Cape Town and honestly can’t think of a better place to live. We have the ocean, the mountain, wine farms, the BEST weather and an abundance of activities to do. I might not do all the activities but having the option to do anything makes me feel less claustrophobic. I have a lot of energy and I need to be busy at all times. Also being an extrovert with ADD, I find people to talk to wherever I go.

I love Christmas movies and Christmas overall. Bring on Christmas carols and put up the tree in November – I don’t care, I am here for it. As a family we have started a tradition of choosing 1 decoration per person each year to add to the tree. It’s almost like memorabilia for the year that has passed. I have also been dreaming of a white Christmas for ages and can’t wait to take my daughters (when they’re old enough and I have saved enough) to have a European Christmas – hoping it’s just like the movies. I have heard about these Christmas snow adventures in Finland that sounds like a dream. Imagine seeing the northern lights while meeting Santa? Seems like this is the reason it’s one of the most expensive holidays in the world.

I love trying new restaurants and different types of wine. What better place to do that cape town. It feels like new restaurants are opening left, right and center. I act like I am a masterchef judge – which is hilarious as I dont think I am a great cook myself, I just love eating. I also consider myself lucky (or smart) to have married someone who loves to cook. I choose the meals and do the shopping and Ross executes the meal – project management at its finest.
Ross also loves braai – if the meal can somehow be done on fire, it will be. I don’t know anyone else who will braai a chicken filet for a salad, but hey I am here for the vibes. Don’t be fooled though, I love to bake and create. Cakes, doughs, tarts, if there is a baking element, I am doing it. I love the idea of baking once a week so there is always a fresh treat in the house. I love it, my waist line does not.
I also consider myself a wine connoisseur and can’t be fooled into thinking a cab sav is a merlot. Ross has tried and failed. I also have a massive sweet tooth — give me a bag of chuckles any day! Thank you Woolworths for making every dessert or chocolate item into Chuckles. I will be grateful forever.Â
I will forever be grateful that I got to experience the Test Kitchen before it closed its doors.

I love pets and animals and when I was small – all I wanted was to rescue all the animals from the SPCA. I had this idea that my best friend was going to move into the house next to me, we would break down the wall between us and adopt every animal we could find. 25 years later I still visualize this dream. I have always grown up with pets and I try to expose my daughters to as many animals as possible.
Currently, I only have 2 cats, I’m not sure I have the capacity to train a pup just yet but I really do want one!

It wouldn’t be a get to know you list with a pet peeve. My ultimate pet peeve is hearing people chew – I can’t stand it, it really grinds my gears. Often you can’t get away from it, but trust me if I can move seats, I will!

So that’s a brief introduction on who I am and a welcome to blog space – hope you enjoyed it!
